We met her on Phuoc Tuong pass, Thua Thien Hue province. She was a little "hitch-hiker".
Everyday, she has to go to school by foot. The distance from her house to her school is 6km, so she will leave her house at 11 a.m for her class which begins at 1 p.m.
I asked her: "Why don't you go to school by bicyle?"
She said: "My mom is unable to afford a bicycle, and I can't ride a bicycle on this road due to this dangerous pass!" (Phuoc Tuong pass, located on 49B national road, is one of the most dangerous passes in the Center of Vietnam with continuing and dangerous bends.
Next year, she will enter a secondary school which is further than her primary school.
I hope to meet her again to give her some books, notebooks or just candies.
